Folks, I have a piece of exciting news to share. Earlier this year, I received a rather unexpected contact from someone at Macmillan Publishers.
It turned out they wanted to use my photo as the English version cover of Keigo Higashino‘s novel ‘Inori no Maku ga Oriru Toki‘ (祈りの幕が下りる時), which will be translated as ‘The Final Curtain’ in English. For those who don’t know, Keigo Higashino is a pretty well-known author in Japan, especially in the mystery genre.
They took the liberty to alter the original image and added a silhouette to describe the story’s protagonist, but I think the result fit the novel’s theme perfectly. The book’s back flap will have a credit line that reads ‘Jacket photograph of Temple in Sendai by Jerfareza Daviano.‘
This is absolute big news for me because never in a million years would I envision that my photo would be used as a book cover, much less by a popular author.
